Hey,
Welcome to paradise! Couple things up front I wanted to say after watching your videos! Keep those things in mind during the first weeks of training. Everything in detail soon with your first feedback!
– Make sure never to look at the wall! You always, always have to look at your hands when training handstands.
– For the HSPU avoid allowing your elbows to flare. Based on your particular anatomy this could cause injuries. More importantly this won’t translate to future progressions. Also make sure you come back to the starting position between reps. Do not let your shoulders hang out in front when you lock out the elbows. Yet, please do make sure to continue to look at the hands at all times.
– Come closer to the box for the bench zombie and make sure you look at your hands!
– Chest to wall press negative: look at your hands and work on keeping the shoulders open. Ideally your shoulders should be open the entire time here! Close your legs a bit more in order to reach the floor with your feet.
– We will be focusing on handstands close to the wall for now to get consistency into your sets. Like this we can monitor volume and assure consistent overload
I’ve created for you 2 complete handstand workouts for you to alternate. Additionally, I’ve created an handstand push up specific conditioning block that you can do on overhead push day before your weighted exercises but after your warm up.
Please upload your videos every other Tuesday starting April 30 so I can do your feedback on Wednesdays. If this is super inconvenient for you let me know and we can arrange a different day.
